WENDELL ROBERT WILLIAMS

     Wendell Robert Williams, age 79, passed away peacefully May 22, 2025, at Marshfield Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Born May 16, 1946, to Oliver and Hazel Williams, Wendell grew up near Granton, WI, where he learned the value of hard work and perseverance on the family farm. These early lessons shaped the man he became: steady, resourceful and deeply devoted to those around him. After serving in the U.S. Army, Wendell attended drafting school and held several jobs, including working as an orderly and at Nelson Muffler, but farming remained his true calling. 

     In 1974, he married Jeanine Voigt (Holzbauer), and together they purchased his grandparents’ farm. There, they built not just a home, but a life full of love, laughter and enduring family bonds. Wendell was the heart of his family. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he led by quiet example—offering strength, wisdom and a steady hand. He had a knack for fixing just about anything and was known for his quick smile, generous spirit and a laugh that filled the room. He was a problem-solver with boundless creativity, always willing to stop what he was doing to help a neighbor or lend a listening ear. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, integrity and a life well-lived. His family will carry forward the values he instilled and the many lessons he taught through the way he lived. Wendell is lovingly remembered by his children, Mary (Paul) Elmhorst, David (Jeanine) Voigt, Tim (Sue) Voigt and Jeramy (Kirsten) Williams; his siblings, Jean (Nathan) Vandeburg, Roger Williams, Shari Brock and Marvin (Sue) Williams; his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family, all of whom he cherished deeply. 

     Wendell will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in a private family ceremony. Though he is no longer with us, his presence remains in the fields he walked, the hands he held and the hearts he touched.
