Ted Kopp Jr., 78, of Neillsville, WI, died Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.
Theodore James Kopp Jr. was born Sept. 20, 1944, in Neillsville, WI, the son of Theodore and Doris (Lloyd) Kopp Sr. He attended school in Neillsville, while helping his father on the family farm. He served in the United States Army – National Guard from Nov. 27, 1962, until his honorable discharge May 27, 1963. When Ted returned home, he worked at Liskow’s Fur Farm in Neillsville and later at Van Gorden’s Feed Mill while helping his dad farm. Eventually, Ted took over the farm and went to farming full-time and driving school bus. He stopped farming in the early 90s, and began working at Lynn Dairy in 1991. He became the night supervisor at Lynn Dairy, working there until he retired in 2015.
Ted was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. He enjoyed four-wheeling through the woods, Sunday drives and scratch off lottery tickets.
He is survived by his longtime significant other, Bernice Seidl of Neillsville, WI; his six children, Angie (Jim) Linneman of Eau Claire, WI, Brad Kopp of Wausau, WI, Melissa (Mike) Mutz of Waupun, WI, Brenda (Dave) Nevins of Appleton, WI, Renee (Tom) Konter of Appleton, WI, and Justin (Cassie) Seidl of Oshkosh, WI; eight grandchildren, Erin, Amelia, Anna, Rachel, Amanda, Nicole, Madison, Hope and Cassandra; seven great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and three siblings, Tom (Cindy) Kopp, Tim (Nancy) Kopp and Patricia (Duane) Pozega, all of Neillsville, WI. Ted is further survived by a goddaughter, Dawn (Aaron) Griepentrog of Neillsville, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Doris Kopp Sr., and a daughter, Jennifer Kopp.
A memorial service for Ted will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Military honors will be performed by the Neillsville Veteran’s Council. Following the service, a reception will be held at Strike Time Lanes in Neillsville. Interment will be in the South Pine Valley Cemetery in Neillsville at a later date. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Gesche Funeral Home.
