LORRAINE R. GRIESBACH-BENTZLER
Lorraine R. Griesbach-Bentzler, 91, Marshfield, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. A celebration of life will follow at Rembs Celebration Center, and burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Lorraine was born March 2, 1933, in Town of Cassel, Marathon County, to Joseph and Anna (Jagodzinski) Knetter. She married Robert Griesbach in 1952. He passed away in 1965. She later married Harold “Gar” Bentzler in 1983. He passed away in 2003.
Lorraine was employed at Weyerhauser in Marshfield for 27 years before retiring in 1995. She also volunteered at Eagles, American Legion and in the kitchen at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Lorraine enjoyed picking strawberries and giving them away to family and friends, wintering in Arizona with Gar, playing sheepshead and bingo, listening to polka, driving her friends around and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved baking lemon poppy seed and banana bread and sharing it with her family.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Sally) Griesbach of Chili, Richard (Shelly) Griesbach of Marshfield, Linda Cox of Marshfield, Donna Griesbach of Loyal, Debra (Dan) Koeune of Arkdale and James (Dawn) Griesbach of Marshfield; stepchildren Patti (Jerry) Sowls of Oshkosh and Harry (Lori) Bentzler of Sheldon; stepson-in-law John Trunkel of Willard; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by her sisters, Gladys Strasser and Violet (Earl) Strevler and sister-in-law Marie Knetter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Robert and Harold; stepdaughter Carol Trunkel, step-grandson Jestin Koeune; and siblings Joseph Jr., Stanley, Melvin, Marvin, Paul and Arlene Knetter.
