LINDA MARY CRANE

LINDA MARY CRANE
Linda Mary Crane, 74, of Chili, WI, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025.
Linda, the eldest child of Vizma and George Vukson, was born Aug. 5, 1951, in LaSalle, IL. Linda graduated from Adams-Friendship High School, Adams, WI, in 1969. Linda was the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. In 1973, Linda graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, earning a cachelor of science in English with a minor in geography and a teaching certificate.
In 1969, thanks to her friend setting her up on a blind date, she met the love of her life, Brian Crane. Brian and Linda were married June 12, 1971. Their daughter, Lorelei, was born in 1976. Together, Brian and Linda spent 56 years sharing life experiences and adventures together.
Linda loved to travel across the country, successfully visiting all 50 states, many states multiple times. Linda was a philomath; her love of learning and obtaining knowledge created the desire to be a voracious reader. Linda read every plaque at museums, national park historical markers and the entirety of magazines, newspapers and books from front to back, and with her photographic memory, she retained and recounted everything she read. Linda also was a prolific photographer and videographer who was often seen with a camera in one hand and a video camera in the other.
Linda’s family was important to her, and she believed in selfless giving to others, not to be praised, but for the joy she would see on other people’s faces. Linda remembered and sent cards for all birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations. She loved to give gifts or to spend a day taking her nieces/nephews on adventures. Linda expressed pride when her daughter completed her academic master’s degree. Four years ago, Linda became a grandmother, a role of immense significance in her life. She valued the time spent with her grandson and will be remembered for her devotion as a grandmother.
Linda spent over 48 years transforming her home and land into an oasis, growing unique trees, bushes and flowers. Her home was always shared with several beloved and quirky dogs.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vizma Vukson.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Crane; daughter Lorelei (Ian) Noire; and grandson Liam; siblings Sylvia (Gordon) Binger, George (Gayle) Vukson and Sandra (Randal) Witt; nephews Jason and Ryan; nieces Jeanette, Gina, Danielle and Kayla; along with many loving in-laws and their children.
A celebration of life is being planned for the near future. Instead of sending flowers, you may choose to visit your local Native American casino in honor of Linda – she would.
