LEONA M. SIMMONS

     Leona Simmons, 88, of Neillsville, WI, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2025, at the Riverside Assisted Living facility in Neillsville, WI.

     Leona M. Lukowski was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Leo and Martha (Delski) Lukowski. She was united in marriage to Eugene Francis Simmons Sept. 17, 1955, in Omaha, NE. They moved to Neillsville after they were married and raised veal calves on their farm in Washburn Township. Leona was a hard-working woman with a kind heart who loved her family very much.

     She is survived by her husband, Eugene; a sister, Donna Kroll and a brother, William Lubowski, both of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews, along with good friends, Bev and Tom Short.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Martha Jo.

     A graveside service in the Neillsville City Cemetery will be held at a later date.
