KATHLEEN J. SEELOW

KATHLEEN J. SEELOW
Kathleen Jean (Vukobrat) Seelow passed away peacefully at Marshfield Hospital in Marshfield, WI, Aug. 6, 2025, with her family by her side. Kathy was born April 13, 1949, to George and Anastasia Vukobrat in Richland Center, WI.
Kathy graduated from Bayview High School in Milwaukee, WI, in 1968. She married her high school sweetheart and husband of 55 years, DeWayne Neil Seelow, Dec. 27, 1969, in Milwaukee, WI. Kathy and DeWayne had two daughters, Amber Vine and Carrie Carlson.
Kathy moved to Neillsville, WI, from Milwaukee, WI, with DeWayne in 1972 and retired from Cummins in 2014. She had previously worked at Marty’s grocery store and the Wildcat Inn in Neillsville, WI. Before moving to Neillsville, she worked at Mark’s Big Boy and Hack’s Furniture in Milwaukee, WI.
Kathy loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids, and talking with family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with and taking care of her husband. Before passing, she told us all that she loves us, but with a smile said she loves him most. Kathy made sure everyone she loved was taken care of until the day she passed. She enjoyed giving her sons-in-law, especially Mike, a hard time, pranking her granddaughters at Christmas, working on her home, helping her family, giving advice, watching Survivor (as we all knew not to call during that time), and supporting her grandchildren in every endeavor.
Kathy was one of the toughest and most giving people we knew. She wouldn’t take no for an answer when she set her mind to it. After major heart surgery, she didn’t ask her doctor at her clearance appointment, she told him she would be riding roller coasters with her granddaughter the next week. In another example of her will, Kathy drove herself an hour home after breaking her ankle because she didn’t want to bother anyone. Upon arrival at the hospital, she called her daughter when she realized she couldn’t walk in. Kathy was always looking to make life easier for her daughters and sons-in-law.
Kathy is survived by her husband, DeWayne; daughters Amber Vine (Mike) and Carrie Carlson (Dan); five grandchildren, Nathan Berg (Allyssa), Isabel Carlson (Will Burr), Serena Carlson, Jeff Vine and Ron Vine (Lisa); great-grandson Lucas; siblings George Vukobrat, Mike Vukobrat, Pam Vukobrat, Theresa Osterman (Dennis), Jeff Major, Connie Vukobrat, Peter Vukobrat, Paul Vukobrat and Neal Vukobrat; brother and sister-in-law Gene and Cindy Seelow; her best friend, Kathy Hagen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anastasia (Rego) Vukobrat; mother- and father in-law, Ken and Eleanor Seelow; siblings Jolene Staniszewski, Nona Budny, Timothy Vukobrat, Richard Major and Shannon Bendlin; brothers-in-law, Richard Seelow and Ted Budny; and sisters-in-law, Barb Vukobrat and Joan Seelow.
At Kathy’s request, no services will be held.
