JOAN LORAINE FITZMAURICE

     Joan Loraine Fitzmaurice, 91, passed away in Footville, WI, June 11, 2025. Joan was born May 18, 1934, in Neillsville, WI, the daughter of Jacob and Veronica (Ziglinski) Langreck. She married Dale Duane Fitzmaurice Aug. 25, 1955. They resided in Marshfield, WI, until 1957, when they moved to Janesville. 

     She was employed by Mercy Hospital, then Graves Super Value, from which she retired. She also was a student at Blackhawk Technical Institute in the ADN nursing program. Other places she worked included Cedar Crest and Visting Nurse Association; as well as JC Penney and Gibbs Manufacturing. Joan was a proud member of St. William Catholic Church. 

     She is survived by nine children, Debra Cmar of Janesville, Randy (Judy) Fitzmaurice, Linda (Pat) Sparling, Mike Fitzmaurice, Lori Doran, Tim Fitzmaurice, Brenda Fitzmaurice, Kathy (Adam) Ball and Mary (Troy) Cheeney; brother Delbert (LaVada) Langreck; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. 

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Veronica Langreck; husband Dale Fitzmaurice; sister Joyce Zinthefer; brother-in-law John Zinthefer; sister-in-law Leona Langreck; and granddaughter Amanda Fitzmaurice. 

     A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. June 19, 2025, at St. William Catholic Church with a visitation at 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
