     Ione F. Urban (nee Stevens), 95, passed away peacefully June 17, 2024. She is the beloved wife of the late John Urban Jr. She is survived by her loving daughter, Brenda (Thomas) Dieball, and her dear sister, Joanne Krause. She is the proud grandma of Daniel Vine, Derek (Kelley)Vine, Heather (Michael) Sponholz, Chad Adams, Thomas “TJ” (Tressa) Dieball and Adam Diebell; and cherished great-grandma of Jayden Sponholz, Mason Sponholz, Penny Vine, Oliver Vine, Owen Vine, Jaxon Dieball and Julian Dieball.

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, John Urban Jr.; daughter and son-in-law Debra (David) Vine; sister and brother-in-law Eileen (Leland) Dopp; brother-in-law Wallace Krause; sister and brother-in-law Bertha (Harold) Ammentorp; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie (Albert) Urban; and brother and sister-in-law Glen (Milda) Swanson.

     Ione was born in Shortville, WI, to Irving and Gladys (nee Winters) Stevens. She attended Shortville grade school and graduated from Neillsville High in 1946. She went on to work as a secretary and general office work from 1946 until 1951. Ione married John Urban Aug. 11, 1951, and they both then worked on their farm and raised their family.
