DANIEL SLONE

     Daniel R. Slone, 78, of Streator, IL, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator. He was born March 24, 1944, in Morris, IL, to Grant Y. Slone and Blanche (Miller) Slone. They moved to a farm in rural Neillsville in 1958. Dan graduated from Neillsville High School in 1962. Dan was a powerful tenor and loved singing with the Clark County Men’s Chorus and the Streator Prairie Singers.

     He is survived by his wife, Joy; his two children, Daniel R. (Amy) Slone and Angela (Matt) Tompach; six wonderful grandchildren; and his siblings, Kathy (Richard) Hutchison, Richard (Anita) Slone, Mary Slone and Ruth Slone.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Grant Leslie Slone.

     Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, Streator. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Additional visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, Streator.

     Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.
