CLEONE Y. ZINK
Cleone Y. Zink, 91, of Neillsville, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville with Rev. Gregory Michaud officiating. She was laid to rest in North Pine Valley Cemetery following the service. Family and friends were invited to gather for a time of visitation at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Cleone was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Neillsville to the late William and Sarah (Pedders) Seelow. She was a graduate of Neillsville High School. On April 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Zink at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Sadly, he passed away Jan. 3, 2004.
They moved to Cudahy, WI, in December of 1951, and after 54 years, Cleone moved back to Neillsville in November of 2005. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy for 18 years, until her retirement in 1991. She worked for Fine-Lando Clinic for a short time after her retirement from the hospital.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville.
Cleone enjoyed reading and knitting. She especially enjoyed traveling, having traveled to England, Germany and Switzerland. One of her favorite activities was attending the Senior Center in Cudahy. She enjoyed making ceramics and bringing in lots of soup for her friends.
Those who will cherish her memory include her children, Gary (Barbara) Zink of Fond du lac, David (Bev) Zink of Black River Falls, Joseph Zink of Summerset, Daniel (Melody) Zink of Wild Rose, Jerome (Jennifer Rose) Zink of Waterloo, Robert Zink of Seligman, AZ, Mary Kreigel of Marshfield and Jennifer Ann of Neillsville; her grandchildren, Katie, Max, Josh, Melissa, Shannon, Riley, Elizabeth, Sydney, Ray, Robert, Rachel, Jessica, Erin, Sara, Erik, Alex and Lauren; her great-grandchildren, Domonic, Marcus, Ethan, Jackson, Turner, Roxanna, Braxton, Olivia, Jase, Gregory, Andrew, Allison, Natalie, Elise, Katelyn, Nickolas, Meghan, Colin and Annemarie; her siblings, Berdella Carl, Janet Harrington, Beverly Snyder and William (Karen) Seelow, Jr., along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; a grandson, Zachary; her brothers, Fritz, Kenneth and Russell Seelow; and her sisters, Lila Burr, Donna Marie and June Schnabel.
