CHARLES M. PEDERSON

     Charles M. Pederson, 80, of Granton, WI, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at the Marshfield Medical Center-Marshfield.

     Charles “Chuck” Merle Pederson was born Feb. 29, 1944, in Nashville, TN, the son of Merle A. and Margaret J. (Brumbach) Pederson. He graduated from Pittsville High School in 1963. He went on to UW-Stevens Point, earning a bachelor’s degree in secondary music education. Chuck taught music in Granton and Sparta school districts. He then went to work at the Tomah VA Hospital, caring for patients for 10 years. During this time, his love of music remained, and he volunteered as organizer and director of the Sparta Chamber Orchestra.

     On Nov. 4, 2006, he was united in marriage to Rochelle A. Tichy at the Granton United Methodist Church. Together they loved traveling the western United States and building a retirement home. Chuck restored an antique tractor and enjoyed plowing snow and tilling a small garden.

     He is survived by his wife, Rochelle of Granton; sisters Carol Blattler of Marshfield, WI, and Betty (Robert) Langreck of Germantown, WI, stepchildren Eric (Marjorie) Hansen of Tallasay City, Negros, Philippines, Beth Louise Tichy of Chili, WI, and Vincent (Jean) Tichy of Stratford, WI.
