BURTON FRANCIS POTTS

     On June 5, 2024, Burton Francis Potts passed away in Bismarck, ND. He was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Storm Lake, IA. He joined the navy in 1950 and served aboard the USS Boxer until 1953.

     In 1953, he was united in marriage to Beverly Allen and they moved from Iowa to Greenwood, WI. Burton had many occupations until he landed in trucking. He spent most of his adult life driving truck across country.

     In the early 1990s, he married Margaret Mick and after a few years driving together, they settled into retirement life in Neillsville, WI. In later life, they moved to North Dakota to be closer to his bonus family.

     Burton is survived by his wife, Margaret; his ex-wife, Beverly; a sister, Barbara McGee; and brother Verlin Potts, both of Iowa. He is also survived by his children, Paula (Al) Parrish in South Dakota, Raymond (Sheree) Potts in Wisconsin, Peggy Hart in Wisconsin, and Troy Potts in South Dakota; his seven bonus daughters, Mary Seidel, Kelly Green, Cora Mick, all in Nevada; Lynn McCauley in Colorado, Sidney in North Dakota, Caroline Wetzel in Wisconsin and Sheryl Chandler in Arizona. In addition, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Dorothy Potts in Iowa and his son, Rex Potts in Wisconsin.
