Genevieve A. Dux

Genevieve A. Dux
Genevieve Augusta Dux passed away peacefully July 8, 2026, at the House of Dove in Marshfield, WI, surrounded by her loving family. She was 99 years old and lived a full and faithful life, with family and God always at the center.
Genevieve, affectionately known as “Jenny,” was born Jan. 22, 1927, in the Town of Weston to John and Hilda (Thoma). She attended Worchel School through the eighth grade and then worked alongside her father and siblings on the family farm. Though the work was difficult, Jenny often spoke fondly of those years and the memories made there. On Oct. 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Louis Dux at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe. Together, they established their farm just one-half mile down the road from her childhood home.
Jenny was deeply involved in her church throughout her life. She served on the Altar Guild for many years, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was active in Ladies Aid, created church banners and faithfully sent countless get-well cards to fellow members. She also served as a 4-H club leader for many years, started a mothers’ club, was active in the Globe Homemakers and devoted herself to raising her family in the Christian faith.
Jenny enjoyed playing cards and marbles, tending her flower and vegetable gardens and creating beautiful crafts. She took great pride in her cake decorating and made many lovely wedding, anniversary and birthday cakes over the years. She was also known as the “card lady,” sending birthday and get-well cards to everyone she knew.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face.
Jenny enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and old westerns on television. She was also able to attend several Brewers games over the years. Her family took turns filling the bird feeders so she could enjoy watching the songbirds, hummingbirds and orioles from her window.
Jenny is survived by her three children, Debra (Bill) Grap of Milwaukee, Daniel (Bunny) Dux of Neillsville and David (Christine) Dux of Minnesota City; five grandchildren, Aimee (Jason) Bowers, Kimmie Drogier, Josh (Amanda) Dux, Elisabeth (Chris) Cordrey and Destiny (Ross) Vorbeck; seven great-grandchildren, Katie, Mollie, Kollin, Kaden, Nathan, Mason and Maya; and her brother-in-law, Dan Patey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; her brother, Henry Thoma, and his wife, Virginia; her sister, Elvira Patey; her sister, Arlene Hediger, and her husband, Kurt; and her sister-in-law, Gladys Thoma, and her husband, Gordon.
Funeral services for Jenny will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe, WI. Pastor Nathan Wilke will officiate. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. A livestream of Jenny’s service may be viewed at www.geschefh.com.
