CAROL SUSAN (WEST) WALLNER

CAROL SUSAN (WEST) WALLNER
Our hearts are broken, but Heaven has gained a beautiful Angel. Carol Susan (West) Wallner, 80, moved into her eternal home Feb. 23, 2025.
Carol was born to James and Irma West July 14, 1944. She attended Neillsville Public High School, graduating in 1962. Carol continued her education in Minneapolis, working as a nanny to put herself through school. Once classes were done, she moved to Wisconsin Rapids and started her family of three children. Later, in 1983, she married Richard Wallner and blended their families to include six children. She worked at the papermills in Wisconsin Rapids until her retirement.
Carol loved to play cards, Bingo, sew and bake (always in LARGE quantities!). Everyone around her always had plenty of cookies! Deciding to retire, Carol and Richard sold their home and purchased a motorhome, traveling the United States for several years. They eventually settled in Winter Haven, FL.
Family was very dear to Carol. She loved being called “Grandma and GiGi” by her 15 grand and great-grandchildren. They made her glow with happiness.
Grandma Carol will forever hold a special place in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard; and children Ken Moen, Bob Moen, Lori Thur (Travis), Dan (Tina) Wallner, Todd Wallner and Mindy Challoner; grandchildren Megan (Christine) Schmidt, Maddie Lehnert, Stephanie Moen, Grace Summers, Amber (Cody) Kallian, Cody Thur (Libby), Shaelee Wallner and Raice Wallner; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Janice Voigt and Bridget Mack; In-laws Pete Wallner, Don (Cookie) Wallner and Raeann Krejci.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sylvia Goke.
A service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville, WI, Saturday, April 12, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11 a.m., service at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
