MARLENE (NEE ALDINGER) DAYTON

     Marlene (Aldinger) Dayton, 91, of Neillsville, WI, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.

     Marlene (Aldinger) Dayton was born May 30, 1932, in the Township of Avon to Edwin and Pearl (Rush) Aldinger. She was was raised on a farm by Merrillan, WI. She went to school for eight years in Houghtonburg. She went to high school in Alma Center. After she got out of high school, she worked as a house cleaner and babysitter. She married Earl Dayton July 2, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Neillsville, WI. She had four boys Rick, Jeff, Mark and Dennis. She stayed home and raised them. When they got older, she started working again as a babysitter. 

     Marlene is survived by four sons, Rick (Rita), Jeff, Mark (Jackie) and Dennis (Lisa); 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Earl; parents, Edwin and Pearl (Rush) Aldinger; sisters Emma Arndt, Eileen Burlingame and Iva Kubaskie; brother Harold Aldinger; brother-in-laws Bill Arndt, Ed Kubaskie and Dale Burlingame; sister-in-law Evelyn Aldinger; and daughter-in-law Colleen; and nieces Tami Muenkel and Geraldine Johnson.

     Marlene is to be buried in the Neillsville City Cemetery. There will be no funeral as requested by Marlene.

     Gesche funeral Home is assisting the family.

     The family would like to thank the House of the Dove for taking such good care of her and all the wonderful nurses and for hospice workers that came to the house and at the House of the Dove.
