GORDON P. WELLS

     Gordon P. Wells, 84, of Neillsville, WI, passed away peacefully April 15, 2023, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI

     He was born May 29, 1938, in Harvard, IL.  Gordie was united in marriage to Kathleen (Kathy) Bender Dykstra Dec. 29, 1978.  

     After high school, Gordie served in the Army Reserves from Feb. 20, 1958 to Feb. 19, 1964. He was in the grocery business for 55 years. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler and Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was known for his sense of humor and outgoing personality.

     He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathy; son Russell (Donna) Wells of Huntley, IL; daughter Peggie (John) Campbell of Huntley, IL; daughter Tina (Jeff) Pflum of McHenry, IL; grandchildren Abbi (Larry) Hanson and Amber (Russell) Matthes; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Lukas and Jayce Hanson; Jacob and Lylah Fox; Brendan, Kash and Benjamen Matthes; sister, Joan Flint; and brother-in-law and fishing buddy, Billy Bender; and many nieces and nephews.

     Gordie was preceded in death by his parents, Earle and Irma (Redpath) Wells and siblings, Shirley (Harold) Wright, Beverly (Ray) Pokershing, Bill (Elsie) Wells, Jack (Marion) Wells, and Donald (Anne) Wells; brother-in-law and sister-in-law LeRoy and Rosie Mather.

     A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

     Gordie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart Critical Care Center for the kind and compassionate care.

     In lieu of flowers, please donate in Gordie’s name to American Cancer Society or Clark County Humane Society.
