Jean Kuhn

      Jean Kuhn, 97, of Neillsville passed away March 23, 2022, with family at her side.

     Jean Agnes (Trogner) Kuhn was born Jan. 21, 1925, in the city of Neillsville to John and Edith (Seelow) Trogner. She attended Neillsville Public Schools and graduated from Neillsville High School. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary for D. E. Peters at Neillsville High School and also as a librarian at the Neillsville Public Library until she married.

     She married Ernest Kuhn June 21, 1944, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. After their marriage, she moved to Ernie’s family farm in the town of Washburn, where she worked alongside her husband and his family farming. She also assisted Ernie in his seed/farm supply business for many years. They had two sons, Paul M. Kuhn and Richard E. Kuhn.

     Jean was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, being involved with the Bereavement Ministry, the Parish Prayer Chain and the St. Cecilia Circle of the St. Mary’s PCCW for many years. She was involved in different Bible studies. Jean was very active for many years in the Washburn Homemakers Club. She also volunteered at the Neillsville Jail Museum for many years.

     Jean is survived by one son, Richard (Donna) Kuhn of Neillsville; a brother, John (Darlene) Trogner of Oregon, WI; and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kuhn of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Tina Timm of De Forest, Michael (Liz) Kuhn of Rhinelander, Philip (Stef) Kuhn, Jennifer (Brandon) Mews, Teresa (David) Powers all of Wisconsin Rapids, Benjamin (Megan) Kuhn of Lewiston MN, Rev. Nathaniel Kuhn of La Crosse, Samuel (Stephanie) Kuhn of Appleton, Kaitlyn (Gregory) Rosno of Neillsville, Sr. Anna Cecilia Kuhn, OP, of Joliet, IL, Dominic (Marlee) Kuhn of Reedsburg, Gianna Kuhn and Gabriella Kuhn of Neillsville. Jean is furthered survived by 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

     Jean was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edith Trogner; her husband, Ernest; son Paul Kuhn; sister Betty Trunkel; and her husband’s sister and brother-in-law, Louise (Kuhn) Muglach and Maurice Muglach.

     Visitation was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022. A mass of Christian burial followed at 10:30. Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Kuhn was the celebrant with Rev. Fr. Greg Michaud concelebrating. Burial followed at the Neillsville Cemetery.
