DANIEL W. “BOONE” VETTERKIND

     Daniel W. “Boone” Vetterkind, 59, of Greenwood, WI, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, after battling cancer. 

     A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen, WI. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Withee at a later date. 

     Dan was born Oct. 2, 1963, to Frances and Holley Vetterkind. He was a Greenwood native and went to Greenwood High School.

     He had many interests but especially loved spending time outside. He was a true Wisconsinite and believed in the power of beer, fishing and hunting. His hobbies included gardening, canning, smoking and shooting anything possible. 

     Daniel is survived by four children, Riley (Leah) Stokosa of Eau Claire, Danielle Stokosa of New Auburn, Racheal Vetterkind of Eureka, CA, and Lily Kasmeirski of Owen; his three grandchildren; and three surviving brothers, Michael (Carla) Vetterkind of Greenwood, Pat (Judy) Vetterkind of Stetsonville, and Dave (Jane) Vetterkind of Homer, AK. He is further survived by a brother-in-law, James (Maggie) Armbrust of Greenwood; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Holley Nov. 27, 2001; Frances “Tiny” Feb. 15, 2015, and one sister, Susan Armbrust, Nov. 29, 1996.
