Ardis Zank

     Ardis Jean Zank, 80, died March 24, 2022, at The Waterford Assisted Living Facility in Colby.

     Ardis was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Neillsville to Herbert and Leona (Seelow) Henning.  She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1960.  She married William “Bill” Zank in 1961, but they later divorced. Ardis spent the majority of her work career working at the A&W and at the IGA in the bakery department. She was a hard worker and instilled a strong work ethic in her children. Ardis was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pine Valley. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Brewers, Bucks, Packers and Badgers and attending her daughters’ sporting events. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers and feeding the birds. Ardis was a devoted mother and cherished the time she spent with her family.

     She is survived by her daughters, Gail Zank (Robert Davis) of San Marcos, TX, Carol Tews of Neillsville and Ann Zank of Milwaukee; her grandchildren, Ryan Tews and Kelley (Sam) Baum and her step-great-grandson, Vincent Baum, all of Neillsville; a brother, Robert (Donna) Henning, of Phoenix, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Marie Henning of Neillsville; along with nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald Henning; a sister, Mary Slemec; a son-in-law, Scott Tews; and a brother-in-law, Robert Slemec.

     Funeral services for Ardis will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine Valley. Deacon Darrel Diers will officiate. Music will be provided by Sharon Bjerke, organist. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.      Pallbearers are grandson-in-law Sam Baum, and nephews Tim Henning, Jeff Henning, Michael Henning, Greg Slemec and Adam Slemec.

     In lieu of flowers to the family, the family asks you buy a bouquet of flowers for yourself or give a bouquet of flowers to someone else to enjoy or consider a gift to your favorite charity.
